I made a funny realisation today. I Realised why the hell no one plays Initial D anymore and play max tune instead.

The simple answer.

Initial D is boring.

Max tune gets your heart pumping, adrenaline rushing and the sweat pouring. Your skill and reaction times all play a part in getting to first place. Shift to early, you lose speed, shift to late and you might run into the side barrier losing you advantage. The music blasts from the speakers in your seat. Love to rise in the summer morning plays –

Its you vs 3 other guys. All 820 horsepower. This is what virtual racing is all about. You shift gears from 2nd to 3rd to 4th to 5th and eventually to 6th. You weave in and out of traffic like a freaken pro.

And finally you reach the finish line.

Victorious.

The sound of the finishing theme plays. And you take your card out. your ego that much more inflated.

…..

Then take Initial D o___o

Start the game. The seat feels strange. The music is soft. Boring. You race in the legendary Ae86. Versing Iggy as your first opponent you easily gain a 300 m advantage. For 90% of the race you are in 6th gear with no need at all to change down a gear.

After a boring 5 min or so, you finish the race with a 300 meter advantage.

Compared to Max tune. Initial D is like..going on a nice sunday drive with your grandma in the countryside -__-
